20 February 12, Consultation Meetings on Career Entry Proposals
The Teaching Council has extended the consultation period on their career entry proposals to Friday 30th March.
The Teaching Council has recently published a consultative document on the future induction and probation of new entrants to the profession.
The document proposes significant changes to the existing process involving the newly qualified teacher, mentor, school principal, the Inspectorate, the National Induction Programme for Teachers and the Teaching Council.
The CEC considered this issue at a specially convened meeting in recent weeks and will give further consideration to the issue following the series of consultation meetings around the country. The INTO has arranged a series of consultative meetings on the Career Entry document - see schedule below.
